{Idaho Falls Newborn Photographer} Oliver

Remember Oliver? He was the star of my childbirth session last week. Here he is in my studio. I don't know how it's possible, but he gets more delicious every time I see him!

{Idaho Falls Newborn Photographer} Jack

Baby Jack was a dream in my studio with his sweet little features. Even sweeter that he was so very sleepy! His mama and I chatted away--I love that my job brings all kinds of new people for me to meet.

Childbirth Photography {Idaho Falls, Rexburg}

Introducing Childbirth Sessions with Katie Wells Photography!

There's nothing more exciting than welcoming a new baby into the world. I love everything about babies and that includes the delivery. I've given birth to 4 children. Each one was a miracle and each delivery so much fun. Yes, I said fun. Participating in a childbirth photo session allows you and your loved ones to focus on the task at hand, while I quietly stand back and capture all the emotion, love, and excitement of the day.
Those first few minutes, hours, and days of meeting your new baby are magical.
The feel of a childbirth session is obviously much different than a studio newborn session. Most clients that sign up for a childbirth session have already booked a newborn session as well!

Please contact me for pricing. Package deals are available for maternity, childbirth, and newborn sessions.

This girl is the reason for this special event: Meet Addi.
Isn't she beautiful? She's a very happy, active 21 month old who loves to climb, run, dance, and play. However, Addi and her wonderful parents, Daren & Shannon Black, were just given a devastating diagnosis of FOP. I've attached THIS VIDEO CLIP that explains her condition.

The short version: over time all her muscular system will harden into bone leaving her unable to move. I can't imagine as a parent watching a child go through this process.
But there's hope. Medical research has advanced greatly in recent years. As with any research, it takes funds to move forward. Addi is in a race against time. We are hopeful a cure or at least some methods to slow the process will be found before Addi's disease progresses too quickly.
If you are touched by Addi's story, please donate. Any donation, large or small, helps! If we find 100 people to donate $5, it adds up fast! Imagine if we found 200 people to donate! Please feel free to post a link to this blog post on your own blogs, on your facebook pages, or through emails.

Donating is EASY. You can sign up for a mini session. Or you can donate to the cause by mailing a check to me or directly to IFOPA. You can even give a donation through paypal. Please be sure to dedicate your donation to Addi Black. And as a thank you to everyone who donates, your name will be entered into a raffle for some awesome prizes. All prizes are being donated by the fabulous vendors.

You can view the prizes HERE, on Addi's blog. If you are interested in donating a prize, please contact Shannon through Addi's blog.
If you have questions about the mini-session event, please email me at katieportraits@hotmail.com or call me at 208-351-8734.

Thanks to all who give. Generosity always finds its way back to you!

{Idaho Falls Newborn & Child Photographer} Jerzi, Jett & Nash

Shooting Jerzi made me SO baby hungry! I know . . . I have a baby. But she's very busy and becoming independent and Jerzi was sleepy, curly, and absolutely perfect.
