Newborns

I love, love, love newborns. And for those of you that also love newborns, here's a post just for you! I've been going through pictures of my sweet baby girl and found some I hadn't posted yet. She's already changed so much. When she was born, she was 6 1/2 lbs. And now we are tipping the scales at almost 11 lbs!!

WARNING: If newborns make you baby hungry, you just may want to step away from your computer!

This first one is one of my favorites. The swirls of silky soft hair, the curl on top, the little fist in the background.

A baby in a bucket. It makes my life complete in some ways.

And just pure sweetness. Those lips are so squishy and cute!

A sweet gift for your valentine

Valentines Day is coming. And it will be here before you know it.

So take a moment to think of all the sweethearts in your life. A husband or wife. A daughter or son. A new baby. An awesome mom. A fun-loving dad. A best friend. A big or little sister. A doting grandma.

If you'd like to give something to a sweetheart that's lasting, thoughtful, and so very fun, consider giving a gift certificate for a photo session.

The results will be cherished for a lifetime. Children grow and change. Friends move far away. Loved ones pass on. But pictures will forever stay the same!!

I hope you have a Happy Valentines Day! Be sure to tell the important ones in your life how much you love them.

P.S. You don't actually have to wait until Valentine's Day to say I love you! : )

Olivia

Miss Olivia is 10 days old and she's already a strong-willed girl! She was awake for most of her session and not in the mood to pose. But like I always say--It's okay because I always win! Once she gave up, she was really asleep--just look at that hand dangling there. Doesn't she have the cutest little lips?

This was my first session of 2010, and my first session after having my baby. My baby behaved herself during most of the session. And it definitely helped that a friend came over to watch the kids today while I worked. I try not to think too much about how I'm going to balance it all. We're just going to take it day by day!!

Mattisen & Fam

Seriously. This baby girl is so adorable! Little Mattisen and her family are some of my favorite people to work with. She was my last session of 2009--what a cute way to close out the year!

Eli & Fam

Eli was a breeze to photograph--fun, cooperative, and handsome! It's no wonder where he gets it--just look at those parents of his. : )

I'm baaaaack!

Okay, so I think I'm finally getting my feet under me again. It's been a crazy month. I worked right up until the baby came--and she was a little earlier than anticipated. Then it was life with a new baby, kids out of school, Christmas, family, then New Years. And then it was RSV, hospitals, life flight, medical tests and diagnosis, travel home, sleepless nights, bronchitis for me, a cold for my hubby, fevers and colds for my other two kids, and then back to school!

Needless to say, I've been feeling a little overwhelmed. But life is winding down and ready or not, I'll be jumping back into things soon. I haven't accomplished nearly as much as I would have liked to over my "break", but when I consider what we've been through, it's okay.

Sessions are starting next week. I'm excited to be meeting with new and returning clients. I'm so honored that you give me the chance to capture your little beauties! 2010 is going to be a fabulous year!!!

Time to catch up on some blogging:

Ryah is a sweetie pie. And like most little ones her age, she wanted to be in charge of her session. : ) This family picture is one of my favorites--so sweet and real.

Rylee

BUSY little bug! Miss Rylee is 18 months old and was very happy for her session--but entirely too busy to worry about looking at the camera. I love the one-year olds because so much of their personality shows. It's just a matter of being fast enough to capture with the camera!!

Macy

Miss Macy is such a sweetheart. She wasn't too sure about having pictures taken in the beginning, but just look how fun she was once she forgot what we were doing!

Home Again

As some of you might know, our family had a stressful week. Our sweet baby girl came down with a cold, which quickly turned into RSV. She was admitted to the hospital on Saturday where we discovered she had some troubles with her heart.

Sunday morning we were life flighted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

To make a long story short: They performed tests and found that she has a heart condition called WPW. It's something we can manage at home and if she has an episode that we can't correct while at home, we can take her to the ER to reset her heart.

We were in the hospital for 4 days and came home last night. The RSV is almost gone and she's doing beautifully. Thanks to everyone for the support and prayers.

Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2009 was a great year for me and my family. My photography was a blast, my family had a fun year together, and my dreams came true when this little one made her entrance.

It will be exciting to see what 2010 has in store for us. But I'm in no hurry--time is going by way too quickly. This baby is already 3 1/2 weeks old!
